What is the best way to increase your online sales? How can I promote my website for free? What are the benefits of Article Marketing? Does Article Marketing work? These are questions that I am asked on a regular basis and are questions that I will be answering in this article.

I am a businessman from the UK who has various websites to promote the services that I provide. I am involved in providing Vodafone Voucher Codes as well as with a company that sell affordable front doors. As like I am sure the majority of webmasters out there, I wanted to attract as many people as I could to visit and read the content of the websites. At the outset due to my lack of knowledge of the best ways of promoting a website I enlisted the help of people who referred themselves as SEO experts. As it turned out neither were they, despite their claims of being an SEO expert.

After some particularly bad experiences with these so called experts of the SEO industry and after wasting a great deal of money I decided to attempt to educate myself on the art of web promotion. This was about seven years ago and one of the first things I was to learn was about the power of Article Marketing. I started to write articles and was astonished with the results, I was gaining additional traffic that were coming directly from the articles and the websites were also obtaining higher search engine rankings.

Article Marketing has stood the test of time and is still as beneficial today as it was seven years ago. Article Marketing is a free form of web promotion which is a major benefit to the small businessman!

I aim to write an average of one article per day and have managed to do this for the last two and a half years, the results speak for themselves.

Do you dream of quitting your nine to five career in favour of making money on the internet? Are you looking for a person or company to build you a website? Are you looking into ways to promote your website? Would you like to see an increase in traffic to your website? These are all questions to which a couple of years ago I would have answered yes to. I now have built up a network of people who I always use to help me in these particular fields.

I personally believe that is in an essential component of website development is to create a network of contacts, people who specialise on certain aspects of the net. These people should be honest, charge a fair price, be willing to help and give advice and be happy to work quickly with good communication.

My interest in all things internet based started back in 1999 and I thought it would be the ideal way to promote my stuttering therapy business. I must admit that at this point I knew nothing about the ins and outs of the net and did not know anybody who could build or promote a website.

I spent quite a long time phoning people who were advertising in places such as the yellow pages, the newspaper and of course the internet itself. I have to say that the budgets that I keep meant that the prices that were quoted were well out of my reach. I now have come to realise that these prices were basically a rip off as I have now met some brilliant web designers who are happy and willing to build a website at far cheaper rates.

As an example a contact of mine now builds me a type of information portal site for £150 plus free lifetime hosting. I have been working with this contact now for a number of years and he is extremely reliable and has taught me a lot about how the web works etc.

I have also met other contacts who are experts in a professional web promotion service. I have learnt a lot from these people and would now like to think of myself as some kind of expert. I now think that I know quite a lot about how to promote and a market a website. I have around eighty sites myself, which I constantly attempt to attract more visitors to each of them.

Whatever your business, whether it is to do with stuttering or even offering a personal injury claims service, it essential that you try to obtain as my visitors to your website as possible.

The way I attract this additional traffic is by attempting to build up the amount of one-way backward links to each site. One way of doing this of course is by writing articles like the one you are reading. This writing can be quite tiresome but there are sites such as articles-submission.com, who are happy to help you with this project.

Summing up, ensure that you do not become a number victim of the “internet sharks” or the “internet scammers” as some people call them. Shop around for your web promotion, marketing and design quotes and make sure that they can deliver any promises that they make. Establish a network of web specialists that you can rely on to do business with over the longer term.

In my opinion the following examples of website promotion are the best ways to obtain an increase in traffic to your website. I have a large number of websites and these free tips have helped me to make them a huge success.

1. Pay per click advertising.

Pay per click advertising is becoming more and more popular with programs such as Google adwords reporting more and more people signing up to their service. I personally use pay per click however the costs are increasing each month as it like a form of auction. There are better ways of attracting visitors which are also free.

2. Article Marketing.

Writing articles such as this one is my favourite form of web promotion. There are a growing number of free content or article websites who are more than happy to receive your article. That is as long as it is a quality article and not just full of keywords. When other site owners choose to include your article on their website or blog this in turn then gives you a free backward link. Then there is the additional links that you gain when you have the article published in the article directory itself. This form of backward link are believed to be of the most benefit as they are a 1 way link. With the explosion and likely long term popularity of blogs, which of course require content, articles are the future for obtaining links. Hopefully a large amount of people will get to read your article and these are also potential visitors to your website/s.

3. Obtaining backward links.

If you are trying to gain extra traffic to your website, looking to increase your search engine position or hoping to increase your page rank, it is a must to increase the amount of backward links you have.

I have been writing articles for eighteen months and I must say that I aim to continue writing more articles as a way of promoting my own websites for many more years to come. I have had great success from it and whats more it is free. I would strongly advise any person who is looking to gain more traffic to their sites to commence writing articles asap. As a rule I attempt or have a goal to write an average of one article per day. On certain days when I have more time or when I am in the mood for it, I write a lot more than just one, my record thus far has been seven in one day.

Ezinearticles is voted at number one. This site is actually way ahead of any other Article Marketing directory and really is a top site. It is important to be clear about their guidelines when submitting to this site as they do not accept any old rubbish, which of course has to be a good thing.

I also submit to articlealley, articledashboard, goarticles and ideamarketers.

Searchwarp used to be a favourite of mine however no longer appears in the top five.

One other article directory which I have heard is very good is buzzle. I have yet to submit to this site but am likely to in the near future.

There are even people or establishments that offer to write an article for you and will also submit the article to a number of the main article directories. Articles-submission.com offer this service for only ten pounds. They also offer to submit an article that you have written to around twenty of the article directories for just £7. As many people know, writing each article is one thing, but then submitting it can also take a great deal of time.

So what would you say would be the most beneficial part of Article Marketing? Well it has to be the fact that it provides you for a variety of one-way backward links pointing to your website, this of course can only help it to climb up those all important search engine rankings. These type of links, without doubt, have the highest value.

You will of course not only obtain additional traffic from obtaining these links but the readers of your article are also potential visitors to your site.

Writing articles is a win win situation and should be seen as an important part of any web marketing campaign.
